Gotta Have It...Beautiful Mirrors!

Mirror, mirror on the wall….I’ve been spending a lot of time looking for great mirrors lately! The perfect mirror one of those accent pieces that make a room special. Here’s a few favorites:

Gorgeous detailing in this mirror from Cyan Design. It works beautifully in a bathroom with oil rubbed bronze fixtures.

Love the style of this mirror from Barbara Cosgrove.

A golden sunburst from Cyan Design.

For a more casual space, try this hand-crafted piece from salvaged wood. Mirror from Restoration Hardware.

Ballard Designs creates a unique piece from natural bone tiles in a quatrefoil shape.

Favorite Finds from High Point Market

As I was making my way through High Point Market, I was able to document some of my favorite finds. Here’s few trends that grabbed my attention (and I can’t wait to incorporate these ideas into new projects)….

One of my absolute favorite showrooms was Hickory Chair. It was one of those showrooms that had something special around every corner.  One piece was more beautiful than the next. They have done a fabulous job partnering with wonderful designers such as Alexa Hampton, Suzanne Kasler and Thomas O’Brien.

Pearson featured some bold geometric prints throughout their upholstery collection and I especially liked this one.

A beautiful display in the Barclay Butera Home showroom….elegant, simple and comfortable.

Without a doubt, the trend in lighting is pendants. These linen beauties are a new introduction by Jamie Young.

And these pendants with great texture by Regina Andrew.

So, what was the best part of walking miles of showrooms while absorbing way too much information? Without a doubt, it’s the contagious energy that stays with you for many weeks afterwards, bringing new design inspiration.

High Point Market Finds!

This past week has been a designer’s dream….furniture market in High Point, North Carolina.  I had the great pleasure of spending two days bouncing between showrooms, checking out new products, and finding inspiration for new designs.  Check out a few of my favorite finds:

reginaandrew

This is a great coastal display in the Regina Andrew showroom.  Although the showroom was small, I had to go back twice because I couldn’t stop thinking about the incredible lamps and accessories.

Somerset Bay offers casual sophistication with their line of painted furniture.  The finishes and details will make a statement in any home!

eddywest

I’m always drawn to the comfortable and casual furniture by Eddy West.  There’s something about the exposed brick walls of the old showroom that just makes it so inviting.  I had to stop by to see Pamela Dean, the over-the-top awesome customer service representative, who helps me create just about anything for my clients.  A huge thank you, Pamela!

For those of you who don’t understand how the market works, the entire town of High Point is in full swing for two weeks each year (one week in April and one week in October).  Everyone in the furniture world flocks to this small town to show their best work.  The city is swarmed with designers and buyers…..and the excitement is contagious. Now that the spring market is over, I’m already looking forward to fall!
