Inspiration in the Studio

Trending at High Point Market : June 2021

Our team made the short trip to High Point Market last week where we were able to pinpoint the latest trends in the home furnishings and decor industry, connect with our design family, and spend time with our trusted vendors that help make our job possible. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes to bring a beautiful design to life and we cannot wait to share a few favorites from High Point Market.

Inspiration to Innovation – “Market is a great place to strengthen relationships in the workplace and network with other design teams from around the county.  This is definitely my favorite part of market! The opportunity is so beneficial to our team and the nuggets of information are so inspirational. High Point Market is a must for our business and is a win-win all around (except for our tired feet!!!)” – Crista Davis, Studio Administrator

Wood Detailing – “So many fun wood details throughout market! We saw many showrooms with creative leg styles and incorporating wood into the overall design. A simple touch to elevate a classic silhouette!” – Paige Adams, Junior Designer

Sophisticated Upholstery – “I am always inspired by unique and unexpected upholstery details! I loved this striped contrast welt which elevated the feminine look of this Century bed.” – Annie Gray

Playful Patterns – “There were quite a few showrooms that combined multiple patterned fabrics on one piece which adds an unexpected detail to a simple piece. We are always trying to create one of a kind pieces for our clients so I can’t wait to apply this in an upcoming project!” Kayla Cook, Junior Designer

Outdoor Serenity – “We are so fortunate to experience the best our industry has to offer. The Verellen Showroom was filled with amazing energy in the most peaceful oasis!” – Vicky Serany, Founder + Principal

It is always refreshing to take a trip to High Point and we cannot wait to incorporate some of the latest finds into upcoming projects!

Highlights from High Point!

We are still in awe of all of the beauty we experienced last week at the High Point Furniture Market. It was a rough start with Hurricane Michael crashing the party and leaving many of the showrooms (and our hotel) without power. As we settled into four solid days of meetings, showroom visits, seminars, and connecting with industry friends from across the country, we quickly realized how fortunate we are to work and play with such an incredible group of professionals.

There are so many moments and new ideas to share, so we thought we’d ask our team to share their top highlight. These are the trends that we are sure to see working their way into our designs very soon!

Highlights from High Point!

It’s that time of year again! We just returned from several fabulous days at the High Point Furniture Market. It only happens twice each year and it’s our time to touch and feel and sit and learn. It’s an entire town filled with eye candy and inspiration (oh, and just a little rain)!

High Point Market Finds...Focus on Comfort!

We just returned from a fabulous trip to Furniture Market in High Point! So many showrooms to visit. So many ideas for inspiration. So many textures and colors. Of the many fabulous finds, the common thread that caught our attention was the focus on comfort!

The manufacturers we work with spend a lot of time designing furnishings that are functional and comfortable!  Martha found an extra large lounge chair in Century Furniture that would be just perfect for any recreation room!

We have been adding chaise lounges to sofas a lot lately, but this double chaise from Lee Industries is the perfect spot for relaxing.

And for more sophisticated comfort and fun, check out these double chaise lounges from Century.

We’re back in the studio tomorrow!  It’s time to create….gotta love new inspiration.

Bringing the Highlights from High Point back to the Studio!

October is always an exciting month in the design world! Part of that excitement is when the eyes of the industry are focused on High Point and the latest (and greatest) product introductions. Until you see it with your own eyes, it’s hard to explain how many thousands of square feet of showroom space is available to explore. We are constantly on the hunt for quality furnishings and accessories to incorporate into our projects. I thought I’d share some of my favorite finds….

(1) Love this fabulous banquette from Century Furniture. Banquettes are a fun and functional additional to a dining space.

(2) Century created this versatile alternative to the traditional sofa table.

(3) Century also introduced Bob Timberlake’s new furniture line. At the entrance to the showroom, I had to stop and take a photo of this pillow. I’m proud to say that we try our very best to source products that are “Made in the USA” (don’t get me started, let’s just say I think it’s important).

(4) This tufted ottoman from Lee Industries was an absolute favorite and has already made its way into one of our designs!

(5) I love the combination of materials and textures on this comfy chair by Lee Industries.

(6) Upholstered beds continue to be hot! They add great visual interest and can be incorporated into almost any space.

(7) Outdoor living has become just as important as our interior spaces. We now have so many options available for outdoor rugs and pillows like these…

(8) I had to include this new table by Hickory Chair. Growing up we had tables in our living room just like them!

(9) There are so many details to notice and one of my favorites were the many box edge pillows we found! What a great way to add custom detailing without expensive trims!

(10) And last, but certainly not least, the best piece of advice I found (and I think we should all follow it)!

We brought home so many creative and useful ideas….like a kid in a candy store!  It’s the inspiration we need to keep our work fresh and exciting!
