The Inside Scoop...from the Studio

Off to Market in High Point!

This is an exciting week in North Carolina! I spent several days visiting longtime favorite design resources and searching great new lines. I’ll be sharing my favorite finds soon….beautiful furniture, incredible lighting, and unusual accessories!

The excitement was contagious and the buzz about town was that this market was a success for many manufacturers. Could that mean good news for our economy? I think so.

I’ll leave you with this quote to ponder (I found it in a market showroom and just had to write it down)….

If you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life.

High Point Market Finds!

This past week has been a designer’s dream….furniture market in High Point, North Carolina.  I had the great pleasure of spending two days bouncing between showrooms, checking out new products, and finding inspiration for new designs.  Check out a few of my favorite finds:

This is a great coastal display in the Regina Andrew showroom.  Although the showroom was small, I had to go back twice because I couldn’t stop thinking about the incredible lamps and accessories.

Somerset Bay offers casual sophistication with their line of painted furniture.  The finishes and details will make a statement in any home!

I’m always drawn to the comfortable and casual furniture by Eddy West.  There’s something about the exposed brick walls of the old showroom that just makes it so inviting.  I had to stop by to see Pamela Dean, the over-the-top awesome customer service representative, who helps me create just about anything for my clients.  A huge thank you, Pamela!

For those of you who don’t understand how the market works, the entire town of High Point is in full swing for two weeks each year (one week in April and one week in October).  Everyone in the furniture world flocks to this small town to show their best work.  The city is swarmed with designers and buyers…..and the excitement is contagious. Now that the spring market is over, I’m already looking forward to fall!
