We are back from High Point Market and it was a whirlwind but a much needed design refresh! While it was vastly different from past markets, it felt good to be back!

We wanted to share our market round-up of what we saw that excited us most.

A great design is always grounded by a high quality rug and our friends at Nashville Rug Gallery did not disappoint! Elizabeth thought the new Oushak Kilims were perfect for soft yet colorful palettes.

As we look ahead to the holiday season, planning to stock and style your bar early will give you a jumpstart on entertaining (yes, it is possible to entertain in small and intimate groups)! Whether it is a custom designed bar or a simple bar cart — bar styling is a new favorite pastime.

Your bar is a great place to showcase your home’s personality. The best bar collections are combinations of old and new finds. Think about using your grandmother’s crystal wine glasses, funky new cocktail linens, and wine corks collected from special events.  The possibilities are endless and unique to you!

Add pops of color with the bottles themselves, colored straws, linens or even fresh lemons + limes.

Not everything has to be purchased. Start to collect recipes, matchbooks, or coasters from your favorite spots. Below is a collection of cocktail recipes  gathered from travels around the globe.

After bringing all your treasures together stand back and edit. Cheers to the season ahead!

Have you seen it? Our new website is LIVE on southernstudio.com. We are so excited to debut this updated site, which has been a labor of love over the last few months.

The new website features updated, bright photos of our projects, current team photos and bios, testimonials, information about our available services, awards and magazines featuring our work, access to the blog, and a contact form to reach our designers with your project inquiries.

The new site goes along with our complete re-branding project. We now have new logos, colors, client-exclusive gifts, and merchandise in the office to freshly represent our attitude and seriousness about the quality of the business.

You may have noticed the new logos starting to debut on our social media outlets as we do a fresh sweep of the office. It is our primary goal to create environments that provide joy and make a difference in the lives of our clients. This re-branding has not changed that vision, but has been an exciting process and we hope our followers will see and feel the fresh, timeless quality of our work.

We’re finally beginning to recover from spring market in High Point. It’s always a whirlwind experience filled with rep meeting, new products, design trends, and of course lots of celebration. Today, Martha is featured in the Home section of Raleigh’s News and Observer spotting the latest trends. The new introductions from Thibaut are always a must-see! Let’s just say that the wall of flowers was an Instagram favorite of designers at market (including us)!

These were some amazing game tables…the perfect combination of quality and fun!

And, of course, lots of inspiration and new introductions from our consistently favorite furniture manufacturers (many of which are in our own home state). We’re so fortunate to live in North Carolina….it is the true furniture capital of the world!
