Bringing Vision to Life :: Sconce Lighting

The recent time change has us exploring all the additional lighting needed to really illuminate a home! Sconces and picture lighting over bookshelves are two examples of accent lighting that are best incorporated into a home during the construction design phase of a project.

Planning for the proper placement oftentimes requires a multitude of decisions.  For example, determining the placement of sconces in a bathroom, require the exact dimensions of the fixture along with the mirror and vanity selection.

Getting the dimensions just right can make all the difference in the overall design (and, of course, we believe the results are well worth the effort).

In the case of bedside sconces, consider the dimensions of the entire wall, add the furniture dimensions, and then select the appropriate height for the hardwired fixtures!

Designer tip: the sconce height should always fall below the top of the mirror or headboard for optimum function.

Like so many design decisions, early planning during a project always produces the best results.  It’s these details that make all the difference!
