Fulfilling a dream on Bald Head Island!

On days like these, I love my job!  For months, I’ve been working with some wonderful clients as they have been remodeling (well, re-building) an ocean-front home on Bald Head Island.

Bald Head is a beautiful island on the southern coast of North Carolina. What makes it so unique and beautiful? Well, beside the naturally gorgeous beach setting, you can only get to the island by boat or ferry (no bridge and no cars). The main form of transportation on the island is golf carts. It’s awesome and remote and peaceful and I love it.

Well, working on Bald Head is not so easy!  We had a house full of furniture (and all of the other things required for island living) to get onto the island. Thankfully, our super patient and accommodating warehouse was up to the challenge and the barge was reserved! I don’t mind saying, we worked really hard to ensure a flawless installation and a pleasant experience for our clients.  I’m happy to report that it was even better than I had hoped!  Thanks to Mike and Dusty and the entire crew at Navis….what would we do without you?

The color palette for the home was inspired by the beautiful greens and blues of the ocean mixed with the natural textures and colors of sand and seagrass. I especially love all of the handcrafted furnishings by The Old Wood Company. The “life” dining table reminds me of the beautiful live oak trees on the island.

Just a taste of the beautiful view from the home. I’ll try to share more about the talented architect and builder who orchestrated the amazing transformation (the before and after photos are impressive). It’s really not a bad way to spend a day at work…..lucky me!
