It’s a little late, but that seems to be life these days! Twice each year (April and October), High Point becomes the place to be for all things design! The eyes of the furniture industry is focused on the High Point Market….top designers, gorgeous showrooms and new introductions from the best in the industry. This spring, market was filled with projects and appointments….fast and furious without a lot of leisurely browsing (and even less time for fun photos). October will be here before you know it, so it’s time to share a few favorite finds!
My favorite showroom display from the Suzanne Kasler Collection from Hickory Chair…
As a designer, it’s important to work with manufacturer’s that are willing (and able) to customize furniture to meet the needs of a specific project. This newly introduced bed by Hickory Chair is the perfect example; shown here in a twin size with a wood panel headboard.
And here with a full panel upholstered headboard with tufting. The same bed with a completely different look. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination!
I found a few very casual chairs from Lee Industries in a this burlap-looking upholstery. Simple, comfy and classic…and with a great swivel.
And, sometimes it’s just the little things that make me happy! Like these simple placemats (again in burlap). I just love the reminder to mind your manners!
The best news of the market is that there was an excitement and energy that I haven’t seen in a long while. Could it be that the dreary days of the recession are over? I believe so! I’m already looking forward to October.
