We’ve been busy at Southern Studio starting a new and exciting venture. I’ll write more about that later, but for now I want to share the most adorable, fun and well-built furniture I’ve seen in a long time. I first saw Russell & Mackenna furniture at the High Point Market several years ago and it left such an impression that I continued to follow their new product introductions. Lauren Russell, the young and ambitious creative force behind this product line was designing furniture, building a business, AND starting a family! Her dad, Larry Strassner, came out of retirement to help Lauren follow her dream. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I value the balance between work and family more than anything else. So, I’m all about supporting great businesses being run by real moms!

Last month, Dan (my very patient husband and unpaid assistant) and I took a quick road trip to Maryland to meet Lauren and Larry, see the production of the furniture, and visit the quaint flagship store.  Can you believe that this fabulous furniture is proudly made in the USA?  Well, I’m proud to announce that Southern Studio is now a dealer for this spectacular product!  Check out some of my favorite pieces…..and if you’re inspired to add some whimsical fun to your home, please give me a call!
